Hotel Veriu QVM: Best Boutique Stay in Melbourne

I’ve lived in Barcelona for six years, and for the first time in what feels like forever, I’m finally visiting Melbourne.

I’ve been buckling down to bring you as much value as possible, with guides on the best day trips, how to get around and much more. I’ve been compiling a list on the best places to stay in Melbourne, and in my search, I stumbled upon Hotel Veriu QVM.

Upon arrival, the warm smiles, friendly faces and dashing decor made a statement. I was immediately struck by the contemporary style, high ceilings and spacious design.

I arrived mid-afternoon and checking in was a breeze. After chatting with the receptionists, I strolled down the hallway, passed the workspaces and headed up the elevators.

I entered my room on the fourth floor and was drawn straight towards the curtain-draped windows. I peered down at the bustling streets below - the vibrant flower shops, quirky souvenir stores and trendy eateries had passerbyers buzzing around like bees.

Light shone through the curtains, creating a play of light all throughout the suite. As I sat down at the desk, I felt a sense of gratitude sweep through me. What a perfect spot to pop open a bottle of red wine!

After admiring the decor in my suite, I chucked on my bathing suit and headed up to the pool. I swum a couple of laps, but if I’m completely honest, I was just sitting on the pool edge most of the time. The views were to die for - my eyes were glued to the soaring skyscrapers.

After an hour or so in the pool, I decided it was time to spice things up. I got ready and headed into the gym, before later going to the Royal Botanic Gardens to run. I ran my fastest 5 km yet, and I’m sure the leafy trees, colourful gardens and fresh air had something to do with it.

Later on that evening, I gathered up some fresh ingredients and decided to get crafty in the kitchen. The dishwasher was especially handy! After relishing the flavours and admiring the sunset from the window, I decided to wind down on the bed and watch a movie on Netflix.

I spent the following few days editing in the workspaces, splashing around the pool and doing as much sightseeing as possible. The highlights were Flinders Street Station, Fed Square, the NGV, the State Library of Victoria and the Bourke Street Mall. I also discovered one of my favourite viewpoints of the city - on the deck next to Hamer Hall.

Coming back to Hotel Veriu QVM each night felt like a breath of fresh air. It was the perfect way to balance out the bustling city vibes. I found that the hotel was ideal for a long-term stay, especially thanks to the wide variety of amenities available. I’d honestly pin this place as one of the best boutique hotels in Melbourne.

With 110 suites all influenced by the Queen Victoria Market, the spaces seamlessly blended into this culture-rich corner of the city. Whether you want to discover the neighbourhood or travel beyond, you’ll leave feeling energised by this end of town.
